Extra Credit [List Speaker or Event Name] (20 points each)

If you miss an Individual Assignment submission, you can complete Extra Credit Assignments to make up the points. No late IA submissions will be accepted, ever.

Note that IAs are worth 40 points each, but each Extra Credit writeup is only worth 20 points each. Therefore, if you missed an IA, you need to submit two Extra Credit writeups to make up for all of the lost points. Each student is allowed to complete up to 3 Extra Credit Assignment writeups.

Individual Assignment 03: Create a personal business plan

This assignment is designed for you to apply what we have learned to the planning of your own personal and professional development. You are truly your own CEO, CFO, CMO, and CIO. A big part of higher education is to prepare you for the professional world. Imagine that you are the CEO, CFO, CIO, and CMO of "Company Me" that sells "Product Me." How would you envision running "Company Me?"

Over the semester, you should always take a moment to reflect on how concepts from this course can be applied to "Company Me" and use these reflections to create this personal business plan.

          For this assignment, you should
          1. Create a simple personal business plan as specified below. Use the prompts provided below to write the plan.
          2. Integrate course materials into each section: Use terminologies, definitions and concepts we have covered in the course, as much as you can. Please bold at least three keywords from relevant sections of the textbook, or other readings or sources, in each section. You need to use these keywords/concepts creatively in a relevant manner in your writing.
          3. Write one paragraph per section.
          4. Cite sources properly in APA style.

Provide a brief but critical exploration. You should incorporate relevant reports and statistics in your industry analysis, such as:

          Management (one paragraph)
As the General Manager of Company Me, how would you be planning, organizing, directing, and controlling Company Me? How would you manage Employee Me? How would you motivate yourself?  Attract yourself to the right industries or professions? Set and achieve goals? Work well in teams? Communicate with coworkers and bosses?

You must first read Manage Oneself by Peter Drucker (available through Chatham Library) and incorporate concepts and ideas into your writing. Please cite the source properly in APA style.
